So day 1 in Australia! We decide to go to the blue mountains (suggested by Mei, thanks MEI!) , anyway Kristen Drove and Jill navigated! It took us a bit out of our way but it was so worth it. Some backgroun information on the Blue mountains: used to be a coal mining village, now is a rainforest full of coal ming crap! but it is beautiful!!!! We took a ride on the worlds steepest train, went up a steep gondala and took a ride on a glassed floored sky car across the valley, we saw king-parrots, cockatoos, gum trees, eucalyptus trees and a bunch of mining crap along with the famous three sisters! We spent the afternoon walking around the understory of the rain forest in the rain! but it was still beautiful, possible the most magical place on earth! sorry disney! Dont worry we got it all on video so you can all relive the magic with us, hahahah!!!

So our next stop is hunter valley for a wine tour, Jill's guide book (the rough guide to australia) suggests to take putty road for a scenic trip to hunter valley!! Sounds good to us! However, it increased travel time by two hours, was more bendy than the mountains in france and we saw two dead kangaroos!!! Not the most confident things to see while driving in australia, at night!! but we survived!!! Because Kristen is an amazing driver!! and Jill is the best co pilot ever! I think her eyes are still hurting from focusing on the bush for so long!! Roos' averted we made it to wine country, too late for a tour but on cheap pizza night!!! yay!

we stop at the bottle shop for a cas of beer and bottles of wine to calm the nerves after the long drive. The next morning is our wine tour, jill takes one for the team and sacrifces herself to driving. Kristen gets hammered by drinking both her wine and the wine jill can't finish because she is being responsible, good job jill!!! hunter valley wine is delicious!!! and the wine dogs are the best!! Our tour consisted of us and two other aussie teachers, so fun. Our bus driver even went kangaroo hunting for us once he learned that we had not seen a roo as of yet. so cool!! they look so weird!!! and the bouncing is not like what you think.
After wine we make our way to surf camp. Kristen is feeling nervous about swimming in the ocean for the first time while trying to stand up on a surf board and Jill is finally realizing her dream of surfing in australia! Update to come.....
